Front and back cover research

Front Cover;
  • The colours in this film are black and blue which are conventional colours of the thriller because of the mysterious element, the shadows also reinforce this ideas of danger and this makes the audience want to find out what is going on.
  • The images on this dvd cover symbolise the devil image this provides connotations of danger and evil, which is conventional of the thriller genre. Also the image of the man alone suggests vulnerablity and makes the audience relate and sympathise as they feel this when watching the film.
  • The images on the outside suggest innocence and vulnerability it shows this through the use of a young child, in contrast with the evil of the shadows used on the man, this suggests evil and is conventional for the thriller genre.

  • The conventional colours of blue and black are used again to suggest mystery and danger in this genre. We can see this is conventional as it is used in many different thriller films.
  • The image is an innocent image through the use of a young woman and her facial expressions look nervous and scared so the audience sympathise with the character.
  • The use of shadow in the background suggests mystery and vulnerability to the image and this is reinforced through the use of the mise en scene.
